About
BIOGRAPHY
Dave hails from South Wales and has been playing, writing and recording music for 40 years now. Having spent 23 years in the Middle East working as both a designer and professional musician Dave returned to the UK in December 2019 just before the global pandemic hit. Whilst this inevitably impacted on the lives of so many people including his own, this allowed Dave the time and freedom to write the material for what would become his debut solo album "Beautiful Insanity" released in October of 2023.
Dave is an accomplished bassist (first instrument) however also plays guitar, drums and keyboards. His recent work has included providing bass parts as a session musician for local artists within central London.
RECORDING
The bulk of the album was recorded in South Wales at Oakwood Church Studios and then more latterly at the famous Rockfield Studios in Monmouth where such bands as Oasis, Queen, Black Sabbath, and Coldplay have recorded. Using the Coach House studio was a joy, and the atmosphere alone at Rockfield is enough to inspire any artist!
Dave was also able to secure the production skills of well known producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers / Mel C / Tom Jones) on two of the songs "Smiling for Two" and "Town Without Mirrors"
The album was then beautifully and ably mastered by Rob Wilsher at Great WesternStudios.
